Llanes
is a fishing village within Asturias in northern Spain. We visited Llanes in July 2013 as part of our northern Spain tour. |

You arrive at Llanes via the E70/A8 motorway. Take junction 294 onto the A263. it's around 2km to the town. There is a beautiful campsite in Llanes, overlooking the sea that welcomes caravans, tents and motorhomes.

| Llanes is probably best known for the contemporary art of the Cubes of Memory that line the harbour. These colourful cubes are the work of Agustin Ibarrola and every one is different. |

| When you walk into the town of Llanes, there is nodoubt you willbe impressed. This superbly clean town is calm and has a wonderful atmosphere. There are small lanes lined with shops, cafes and bars. |

The marina area of Llanes is particularly attractive. There's a wonderful walk where you can rest in one of the many bars.
The tourist train stops near the marina and will take you on a tour of the town for just a few Euros. |

| The beaches in Llanes are small but beautiful. They all but disappear when the tidecomes in. The rocky features on the beaches are well known and create a unique photograph at any time of day. |

We made an extensive visit to Asturias in 2003 and mainly explored inland. In July 2013 we returned to Asturias as part of our northern tour. We took our motorhome along the coast from Cantabria to Galicia.
