Puerto de Vega is located somewhat lower than the main highway so there's a steep hill down into the village. As you arrive, there's a campsite on your right. The two star establishment is nothing special but it's a good, cheap stay at around 25 euros for a caravan, two people and electric.
You can drive right to the bottom of the town where you will find the traditional, working fishing port with its colourful boats. There are a couple of fine restaurants and bars where locally caught seafood is high on the menu.
There is little else in Puerto de Vega but it's a great example of a small Asturian fishing village. The only architecture worthy of seeing is the old Theatre and Casino that dates from 1951,and the fish auction house. There are some beautifully laid out gardens, complete with box hedging.
