Taxis are located right outside the terminal building. There's also a free phone inside that you can use to call a taxi. There are two companies that serve Girona airport.
There is a direct bus between Girona airport and Barcelona Estacio del Nord that leaves from outside the arrivals hall. This is the cheapest way to get to Barcelona, and normally there are no problems with queues and delays. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and very conveniently the timetable is adjusted to coincide with flight arrivals. A ticket to Barcelona costs around 12 euros or 21 euros return. There is also a regular bus that runs between Girona Airport and Girona city centre that costs 2.05 € for a single and 3.90 € for a return ticket [2010].
There is just a single terminal building at Girona airport with the ticket sales desks and checking in area located on the ground floor. The first floor is the passenger only section with the airport lounge, shops and a selection of restaurants. Passengers arriving at Girona airport will arrive on the ground floor where the baggage reclaim halls are also located. Most EU passengers will need hall 1 baggage reclaim and non-EU passengers will be directed to hall 2.
There are a few restaurants and shops although the services at Girona airport are somewhat limited. Girona airport has three shops located in the terminal building, including a multi shop and two snack bars. There is an ATM located in the terminal building along with two post boxes, first aid facilities, telephones and a meeting point.
You are advised to reserve your car hire before arriving at Girona airport.
Girona-Costa Brava airport has around 3,300 covered parking spaces within three buildings, named P1, P2 and P4. The airport's public car park is just 10 metres from the terminal and open 24-hours a day, has a management and surveillance service as well as an information service on available spaces to make parking easier.
Zone P1 . This consists of two two-storey buildings, called P1A and P1B. Each building has two automatic payment machines (coins and credit card) at the main entrance.
Zone P2. This is a six-storey building located opposite the passenger terminal. It has five automatic payment machines and two cash desks for assistance.
To leave, you must pay for the time you used the car park before removing the vehicle. After making the payment, remove the validated ticket from the machine and go to your vehicle. You have 15 minutes to leave the car park. The payment machines accept Euro notes and coins and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Diners and American Express) up to a value of 65 euros. Payments for higher amounts must be made at the cash desk. The public car park cash desk is located in the P2 car park building, just in front of the terminal building.
