Teulada is located on the Costa Blanca, on the eastern coast of Spain. Just off the AP7 highway, Teulada is just a short drive from Javea and Denia to the north and Calpe, Altea and Benidorm to the south. Teulada is in the province of Alicante and the region of Valencia. The coastal part of Teulada is Moraira, an upmarket tourist town on the Costa Blanca coast which is a very desirable place to live especially with affluent retirees and British expats. The combination of stunning scenery, exclusive lifestyle and wonderful climate make property for sale in Moraira highly sought after.
The old town on Teulada is located 6km inland of Moraira and is surrounded by orange plantations and pine trees. Moraira is the beach resort of Teulada that was started when the local people moved nearer to the coast to join the fishing industry.
Idealspain found Teulada to be a typical Valencian town. The historic centre is a maze of narrow streets, mostly steep. There are quaint flights of steps leading between the main streets. There aren't many interesting buildings but the ambience of the historic town is quite soothing.
Modern Teulada is a fully functional town with all the facilities needed.

What to see in Teulada
The Church Fortress of Santa Caterina
This building is without doubt, the most important in the town. It served two purposes; a place for religion and a point of defence. The church was fortified in 1562 against Berber pirates. The church was built by the townsfolk of Teulada, at great expense.
Over the years, the main church has been extended. The main building took place in the 16th century and the first additions made in the 18th century. The tower is of hexagonal shape and reaches 30 metres. Of ashlar construction, it was modified in the 19th century.
You can find the Church of Santa Caterina in the heart of the old town, in Plaza Espana. It's a gentle walk from the bottom of town.
The Hermitage Chapel of Sant Vicent Ferrer
This 18th century chapel is of rectangular shape and built of sandstone. The dome is covered in multi-coloured tiles giving it a distinct appearance. On the altar you can see a portrait of Vincent Ferrer.
The hermitage stands proudly on a main junction. In front is a small park, planted with tall trees and having several benches on which to rest.
The plaque outside the chapel shows Vicent Ferrer.
Within the little park is a very worn statue and a small shrine dedicated to Vicent.
