There are thousands of hotels in Spain and all have to employ staff. There is no doubt that most of the staff in hotels are recruited from the Spanish workforce, however, there are some hotels that employ foreigners.
You will certainly have to be able to speak Spanish and often more languages are preferred, depending on where the hotel is located.
Receptionis positions in hotels are often filled by people with multi-language skills for obvious reasons.
Porters, cleaners and auxilary staff are often not quite so well educated when it comes to languages.
It is unlikely that anyone with criminal convictions will be employed and checks are usually made.
Applying for jobs in hotels in Spain
There are special recruitment agencies in Spain that often have positions advertised, however, there is nothing to stop you contacting hotels direct and asking for work.
be sure to send a full CV with your application, along with a current photograph. Do not expect huge results - it's a numbers game and you might just strike it lucky. At least if you contact hotels direct it shows that you are willing to work and that you can use your own initiative. |
