One of the
Balearic
Islands
and certainly
the most
charming,
unspoilt
paradise of
them all. It
may be small
but it has a
big
reputation.
Ibiza is
steeped in
history,
having been
invaded by
many different
civilisations,
each leaving
their mark.
The 'real
Ibiza' is the
land of
farmers and
fishermen and
some of the
most beautiful
areas, off the
beaten track.
On the
northeast tip
is the most
beautiful part
of Ibiza. A
place called
Portinatix
has several
lovely coves,
a handful of
hotels and
offers a
relaxing,
peaceful time.
Es Canar
and
Santa
Eulalia
are on the
east coast of
the island.
Again,
charming
villages. Es
Canar offers a
wonderful
open-air
market (known
as the hippy
market) where
you can buy
almost
anything, and
several
beaches and
vibrant
nightlife.
Santa Eulalia
also has
excellent
restaurants, a
lovely square
and a hilltop
church. There
is a promenade
along the
beach.
Sant Rafel
and
Sant
Josep
are located in
the heart of
the
countryside
but still
within easy
reach of the
beach.
