| INFORMATION ABOUT AROUSA NORTEArousa  Norte, also known as O Barbanza region, is composed of the town councils of  Rianxo, Boiro, A Pobra do Caramiñal and Riveira, located on the north area of  the Ría de Arousa, in the province of A Coruña. This territory, of about 244.40  km² has a population of 70,000 and benefits from an economical, cultural and  social dynamism which is increasing more and more. Its economy, although  traditionally related to fishing, is going through a remarkable change in the  four councils, where the service sector is head of economic activity.
 Arousa  Norte is becoming first in destination order in the province of A Coruña,  because it offers numerous attractions for every kind of visitor and has a wide  and varied natural, cultural and gastronomic wealth.
 There are 24 beaches, 5Km of coast, 2500 acres  of protected natural areas and the largest moving dune of the northwest of  Spain, as well as excellent gastronomy and all kinds of sport activities and  leisure.
 You can take part in gastronomical events,  popular holidays, great hicking routes and the world renown Xacobean Route.
 Arousa-Norte  is a literary land. Cradle of writers such as Valle-Inclán, Castelao, Dieste or  Manuel Antonio, and inspiration for many of their works.
 WHAT TO SEE
 Sálvora Island , Riveira
 Declared  part of the Atlantic Islands Land-Maritime National Park of Galicia in 2002, it  is the fourth biggest Galician island, known as the “diamond that the Ría de  Arousa adds to the National Park”. Access: can be only done by boat.
 Natural Park of Corrubedo Dune Complex and  Lagoons of Carregal and Vixán , Riveira
 It is  located on the most rugged coastline of Riveira Town Council. The park spreads  on an extension of 1 hectare, where we can see a mobile dune 1 km long, the  brackish water lagoon of Carregal and the fresh water lagoon of Vixán. Besides,  we can enjoy more than 5 km of coastline with several coast dune ridges.

 Declared  Natural Site of National Interest Peak of almost 500 m of height (487 m) from  which we can enjoy a panoramic view of Arousa Norte and all the Ría of Arousa,  from the Town Councils of the Pontevedra province side, the Atlantic Islands  Land-Maritime National Park with the islands of Sálvora, Ons and Cíes to the  south, and the Ría of Muros and Noia and Fisterra to the north.
 Pedras  River Natural Pools , A Pobra do Caramiñal
 It is one  of the most important river courses in the land. In its descent to the estuary  it forms a set of natural pools and small waterfalls where different leisure  activities can be practiced, from bathing and hiking to mountain biking or  adventure sports such as canoeing.
