This hotel is more than a hotel; more of a resort, with everything you need, all within walking distance. The resort hotel occupies the rugged headland known as Punta Negra and comes complete with its own private little cove with turquoise coloured sea. The coastline also offers some great walks. The Punta Negra is known world wide as one of the best hotels on the island of Mallorca and it certainly deserves this acclaim. On arrival at the hotel you will find that it consists of several buildings. Our only criticism of this is that the reception was poorly sign posted. The reception is in the building at the end of the road. Once inside you will appreciate the large public areas. The hotel lobby and lounges have been furnished to a very high standard and are very comfortable. The main lounge has a feature fireplace and real log fire.

	The hotel has 100 rooms and 25 suites. All rooms have satellite TV with several languages, mini bar, private telephone, safe, heating and air conditioning, balcony, hairdryer and bath with shower. You are also presented with a complimentary bottle of wine on your arrival; the hotel's compensation for the newly implemented tourist tax. Other luxuries in the hotel include an indoor swimming pool, 2 outdoor pools, saunas, gardens and a beauty salon. The hotel has live music several nights per week. There are also several bars and restaurants to choose from within the hotel.

Our opinion We visited the Punta Negra Resort Hotel in January 2003 and we were very impressed with everything we saw. The hotel has a good reputation and it deserves it. For a large hotel it has a great deal of character and is luxurious. its four stars are well deserved. You can stay at this hotel and never have to go out for anything. The staff were very pleasant and more than helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the south of the island and benefits from wonderful sunsets over a rugged and breathtaking coastline. You will find golf nearby and the hotel also offers golf packages. We have no hesitation in recommending the Punta Negra Hotel to our readers.
