Located
in the south-east of the island, just 45km from Palma
airport and just 15km from the beach, this hotel is based around a rural
finca, standing on 33,000 square metres of land.
The finca
is close to the town of Felanitx, along the
Campos road. Don't be put off by the rural track that leads to the hotel,
its well worth the effort. You will pass through some of the most beautiful
countryside on the island.
The accommodation
consists of just 6 apartments, more like individual chalets, and five
double rooms which ensures you will always receive personal attention.

The
chalets are spread around the main finca and are individually designed,
each with terrace and garden area. Inside, they consist of a lounge with
kitchen area, warmed by a wonderful log stove; all are double glazed.
There is a cosy bedroom with twin beds and a small but adequate bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker and fridge, stocked with drinks
that can be purchased. There is ample parking alongside the chalets. They
are furnished in Mallorquian style. |

The
main house has wonderful patios, a pool and a large breakfast room. The
whole hotel stands amid almond groves and orange trees.
This
hotel is rural and as such you are guaranteed peace and tranquillity.
Whilst
at the hotel, meals and drinks can be ordered and outdoor activities can
be arranged such as mountain bike hire. Another interesting feature is
the very cheap wine that can be purchased here as the owners are wholesalers
for Mallorca.

Our
opinion
We visited Es Passarell in January 2003 and despite the trouble finding
it, we were more than happy with the accommodation. The setting is so peaceful.
The owner of the hotel is very friendly, speaks perfect English and many
other languages and welcomes visitors with open arms. This type of hotel
makes a pleasant change from the city or town based hotels of the popular
resorts. Summers here will be glorious; winters more cosy. However, if you
want a quiet base whilst you explore the island, then we recommend this
hotel.
