What to see in Benissa
Benissa has preserved much of its Medieval layout including the main town square. Many of the buildings in the narrow streets still display their heraldic shields. Benissa has been described as 'a living museum' due to the fact that the old town remains unspoilt. In 1998 Benissa received a special tourism award for preserving its heritage so well.
The Palacio de los Torres-Orduña
Open to the public, this building houses a cultural centre and the library.

This neo-classical building is of huge proportions, especially for such a small town.
La Lonja
This 16th century building was the base for local trade and the location of trials. It now houses the Ethnological museum.

Fiestas in Benissa
Fira i Porrat de Sant Antoni (Saint Anthony) includes a mediaeval fair, in January (around the 17th)
Fiesta Patronales de la Purisima Xiqueta is usually on the last Sunday of April for the Patron Saint of Benissa, celebrating the Pure Mother Mary and having bull running and processions.
