Bailen is a provincial town within Andalucia. With around 20,000 residents, it is close to Linares, Jaen and Andujar.

| Bailen is probably best known for its part in Napoleonic history. It is the site of the Battle of Bailen in 1808 which was Napoleon's first defeat and marked the end of the War of Independence. After the war Bailen prospered and became a very important town. |
