There are lots of activities on the Costa del Sol and Benalmadena has the best selection of family activities including the famous Selwo Marina. |

The park is owned by Parques Reunidos and is one of several on the Costa del Sol. Idealspain went to the Marina in September 2010 and here is our report. |

| Selwo Marina is located close to Paloma Park in Benalmadena, easy to get to and having ample parking right outside. You purchase your tickets at the ticket office near the gate. Look at buying a package ticket that includes all the local parks and the cable car ride. If you have already done the cable car, maybe you have a discount ticket for the marina? |

Once you get into the park, make sure you know the times of the dolphin show. The show is staged several times a day and you must not miss it. There is ample seating around the pool and don't worry about getting wet (it didn't happen when we went). The higher you sit, the better the view. The show lasts around twenty minutes and is stunning. |

The penguin house is pretty cool to see and is the coldest place in the park so head here if you get too hot walking around. It's not the nicest penguin house we have seen but they have a nice group of Emperor penguins that are happy to be seen. The water is crystal clean if not a little steamed up. |
There's a childrens play area if you fancy a break and you can enjoy a drink or snack at several places.
The Amazon jungle display is reasonable. There are some tanks with large fish including piranhas of enormous size. There are a few snakes, lizards, frogs and a great display of venomous soldier ants.

Outide, there are also areas with flamingos, Caymans, ducks, turtles and more. There are a few interactive displays to see at certain times. By the time we arrived they had finished for the day so check times as soon as you get there.
The toilets are very clean, as are the paths and public areas. All in all it's a well kept and well presented park that offers reasonable value for money. |
