Rogues Gallery, people to avoid in Spain  - Ron Whitworth and the One Stop Shop (Coin, Malaga)

Ron Whitworth and his German wife ran a shop in Coin (Costa del Sol) called the
One Stop Shop

In February 2006 we had a property for sale in Coin and as we were due to return to the UK and leave the property empty, we placed our property in the hands of Ron Whitworth, trading as the One Stop Shop, with an office in Coin. We left a full set of keys with him, along with the original escritura (deeds).

The verbal agreement was that he was to be paid a commission when the house was sold, providing he maintained the garden and held the keys to the property to enable viewings.

This arrangement went well for a while until, due to his financial situation, he needed money before the house was sold so, we agreed to pay him 1,400 euros in cash and pay him more when a sale went through.  He demanded a massive commission just for looking after the house.

He was NOT happy with this. We had numerous conversations on the phone and exchanged emails which started to get very aggressive. We then informed him that we would simply cancel the deal and take our keys back.

Within minutes he then told us that the keys and the original deeds had been stolen from his car (right that minute) - this was a lie as we checked with the police and he never reported it. He was basically STEALING our keys and deeds.

I flew over to Spain the next day and changed the locks on the house.... the deeds I could NOT replace. I had to pay for new locks to be fitted. I also noticed that RONALD WHITWORTH had been into the house and STOLEN furniture, full and empty gas bottles and actually removed a security light from the outside wall.

We then sold the house and when we arrived in Spain April 2007, to try to sign at the notary, we went to the house only to find that RONALD WHITWORTH of THE ONE STOP SHOP had broken into our house by cutting through the padlock on the gate - he then went in and removed some work tools that he had left there - he then left the house with the gate OPEN and WITHOUT A LOCK ! As he was leaving the property and happened to have his bolt croppers in his hands, he cut through all the main stems of the climbing plants on the house - WHAT A MISERABLE THIEVING BASTARD !

In order to sell the house we went to great lengths and expense to obtain a duplicate escritura and replace locks.

RONALD WHITWORTH of THE ONE STOP SHOP in our opinion is nothing but a THIEF and no less than a HOUSE BREAKER

and he is openly trading as a property sales and management company !!!

Is this the kind of person who should have such responsibility ?  He cost us dearly but it could have been worse.

If Mr Whitworth wants this report removing - he has TWO options:

1. Pay us the expense we incurred due to his malicious damage and lies

2. Take us to court where we will be 100% happy to attend and provide proof of his actions and evidence to substantiate these claims against him

Name and address withheld April 2007
