As
well as the common species of fish, to which we are
all familiar, there are some very strange characters,
some of which are quite rare. One of the most moving
displays is the glass tunnel where you see sharks and
stingrays swimming above you. You can feel the fish
all around you. |

A
great deal of thought has gone into the layout of the
centre and the emphasis is always on the young ones.
One of the areas they will enjoy is the 'songs of the
sea' which is a room in which they have to match various
sound clips with pictures of sea creatures. The tour
finishes in a well stocked shop, a cafe and restaurant
that has a large, safe play zone for the youngsters
to keep them busy whilst the parents relax. For the
adventurous there is an underwater simulator.
Sea
Life play a very active role in conservation and are
undertaking a great deal of work behind the scenes.
They have their own breeding programme for a wide range
of species, some of which are released into the sea
in order to secure their future. |
