The private museum was founded in 1961 and now has 5000 items on display with exhibits from the time of the Pharoahs to today.
Open Mon-Fri 10am-2pm and 4pm-8pm, Saturday 10am-2pm. Free entrance.

Modern museum that encourages participation, a great favourite with children. Includes a planetarium. A real hands-on experience.
Monastic Museum

14th century monastery housing a unique museum. Open Tues-Sun 10am-2pm, Saturday 10am-5pm. Many 14th century paintings and other fine period works. Excellent if you wish to get out of the city for a while.

National Art Museum

Museum of the History of Catalunya
Palau de Mar, Barceloneta (Near Marina) Tel 932 254 700
The museum occupies a large part of a recently restored 19th century port building. The new museum offers an insight into the history of the region and a journey through the history of Spain. The museum is open Tues-Saturday 10am-7pm, Wednesdays till 8pm. Sundays and holidays, 10am till 2.30pm. Closed Mondays (except holidays).
Museum of Erotic Art
Ramblas, 96 (opposite Market) Tel 933 189 865
The museum shows items that have for years, been out of public view. Items range from Greek and Roman objects depicting erotic scenes, through to 1920's posters. The museum is open daily from 10am till midnight (Oct-May) and until 10pm from June to September. Costs around 1.200ptas.
